Our Fire Safety Training Courses

During our training, we examine theoretical and practical ways to make your business safer and more compliant. From fire drills to identifying the proper way to use a fire alarm and extinguisher, we cover everything you need to be safer. As part of the training, we’ll look to appoint key people within the business, including a fire warden, who will have responsibilities afterwards.

Expert Fire Solutions offers two courses tailored to various fire safety training needs: a comprehensive Fire Marshal course and a Fire Safety Awareness course.

The Fire Safety Awareness course covers all the fundamental aspects of fire safety. It begins with an overview of fire safety legislation, ensuring participants understand the legal requirements and responsibilities. The course also includes detailed instructions on the correct selection and use of fire extinguishers, complete with a live fire demonstration to provide practical, hands-on experience.

Additionally, the course emphasises fire prevention and good housekeeping practices, teaching participants how to maintain a safe environment and reduce fire risk. The theory and chemistry of fire, including how it spreads, are thoroughly explained to give a deeper understanding of fire dynamics. Evacuation procedures are also covered, ensuring participants know how to respond efficiently and safely during a fire. This includes effectively locating escape routes. Home fire safety is another crucial aspect of the course, highlighting the importance of maintaining fire safety measures in personal spaces.

To facilitate our training sessions, you will need to provide the trainees, a room spacious enough to accommodate all participants, and an external area at least six metres away from any building for the live fire demonstration.

Our Fire Safety Awareness course is highly recommended for all company personnel, providing essential knowledge and skills to ensure their safety. However, fire wardens should undertake our more comprehensive Fire Marshall or Fire Warden course. These courses are designed to equip them with the advanced skills and knowledge required for their critical role in fire safety.

Why Is Fire Training Important?

Fire safety training reduces the likelihood of fires starting and gives employees the confidence to deal with emergencies. Employees with fire safety training will be able to act accordingly to keep themselves and others safe. Our courses are designed to improve overall safety and teach your employees to use fire extinguishers and other equipment safely.

This training adheres to fire safety law, makes workplaces safer, and raises fire safety awareness. Even if your staff have never held a fire extinguisher, they’ll be confident facing fire hazards after we provide fire safety training. Fire prevention starts with your employees, and this fire safety course starts with basic fire awareness.

Your Legal Duties

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 mandates that the Responsible Person of any non-domestic premises must conduct a fire risk assessment, including measures to reduce or eliminate the fire risk and identify individuals at risk.

Fire safety training is frequently recognised as necessary as part of a fire risk assessment. You demonstrate your commitment to protecting your team and minimising the fire risk by training employees and maintaining documentation of the safety training process.

All fire safety training must occur during your employees’ normal working hours and be pertinent to the fire precautions of their specific environment. Fire safety training and briefings should be provided to employees when they commence employment and periodically throughout their tenure. Refresher training must be given if any significant changes occur to the workplace layout or setup.
